Doctors in Brazil have removed four needles from the lung and near the heart of a boy who was reportedly subjected to black magic.

A hospital spokeswoman said the boy, 2, was in a stable condition but more operations would be needed to remove dozens more needles still inside him.

The four needles removed were thought to be the most threatening to his life.

His stepfather confessed to inserting the needles after being advised to perform a ritual killing.

The surgery lasted nearly five hours, said Susy Moreno, a spokeswoman for the hospital in the north-eastern city of Salvador where the boy is in intensive care.

"He's okay, the surgery was a success, he's doing fine," she told The Associated Press by telephone.

Earlier, the hospital said one needle had punctured the boy's heart, two were near the heart and a fourth was inside a lung.

Doctors had warned there was a further risk of infection and the operation itself could pose a risk of death.

Perfect face dimensions measured

Scientists believe they have worked out the dimensions of the most attractive female face.

They say the key to the ideal arrangement of female facial features is the measurements between the eyes, mouth and ears.

Applying their results, the Canadian pop singer Shania Twain was rated as having the perfect visage.

The study, led by the University of Toronto, appears in the journal Vision Research.

The researchers asked students to rate the attractiveness of colour photographs of the same woman's face, laid out side by side.

Using photoshop, the researchers altered the vertical distance between the eyes and mouth, and the horizontal distance between the eyes in each image.

The features themselves never changed, just the distance between them, and the woman's face was only compared to her own.

Following a series of experiments, the researchers came up with the most attractive length and width ratios between features.

On length, the distance between a woman's eyes and mouth should be just over a third or 36%, of the overall length of her face, from hairline to chin.

For width, they calculated that the space between a woman's pupils should be just under half, or 46%, of the width of her face from ear to ear.

It was very endearing to see the lovely Kajol leaning and holding SRK’s arms while watching the sneak preview of the film. “He is grown a little taller and developed a good body, great six packs,” said Kajol when asked to point out the changes she found in Shah Rukh, since their last film Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham.

Kajol also thanked Kjo for giving her such a wonderful film and an opportunity to work with SRK again. “I think this film completes us as actors. I am sure Shah Rukh will agree,” she said and let the men on the podium, especially SRK to take the action forward.

When SRK talked, like always, the press was all eyes and ears for no star can ever strike a better conversation with the media than SRK.
